PLEASE NOTE THAT ALTHOUGH SOME OF THE LINKS ON THIS PAGE WORK, IT IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND WILL BE COMPLETED BY THE END OF THE WEEK.

In order to support pupils who are self-isolating and/or in the event of the schools closing we have populated a list of home learning resources that all children can access with parent/carer support.

Don't forget to continue with daily reading, times table practice, spelling and carry on using online learning including: TT Rockstars, Nessy, Twinkl, Lexia (Nocton), White Rose Maths & Classroom Secrets.

We have created a federation project that can be carried out by all age groups about our 'DIVERSE PLANET'

Home Learning Project (EYFS/KS1)

The world around us is amazing. For your home learning project, we would like you to become an expert on a country of your choice on our amazing planet. It could be where you live, somewhere you have travelled to on holiday or somewhere you would love to explore in the future.

Some suggestions of what you could research are:

  • Geography – can you find the country on a map? Which continent is the country in? What is the flag of the country?

  • Maths work – how many people live there?

  • History work – what can you find out about the past of the country?

  • Languages – What language or languages are spoken there? Can you learn any of the spoken words?

  • English – Were any famous authors born in the country? What stories, poems or plays did they write?

  • Art – Were any famous artists born there? Who were they, and what artwork did they produce?

  • DT – What food is traditionally eaten in the country? Can you have a go at baking or cooking a meal from your chosen place?

  • Science – What animals or plants can be found in the country?

The project can presented in any way in which you choose, for example a drawing, painting or piece of writing. We encourage you to be creative and enjoy spending time researching our diverse planet!

If the project could be brought to school on the first day when we return, we will be able to share the fantastic home learning projects that the children have worked on whilst at home.

Home Learning Project (KS2)

Some suggestions of what you could research are:

  • Geography – can you locate the country on a map? Which continent is the country in? What are the neighbouring countries? What is the flag of the country? What is the landscape like? What is the average temperature?

  • Maths work – how many people live there (the population)? How far away is it in kilometres? How long would it take to travel there?

  • History work – what can you find out about the past of the country? Has the place changed over time? How and why?

  • Languages – What language or languages are spoken there? Can you learn any of the spoken words?

  • English – Were any famous authors born in the country? What stories, poems or plays did they write?

  • Art – Were any famous artists born there? Who were they, and what artwork did they produce?

  • DT – What food is traditionally eaten in the country? Can you have a go at baking or cooking a meal from your chosen place?

  • Science – What animals or plants can be found in the country? Carry out some research to find out about the different types.

The project can presented in any way in which you choose, for example, as a written report, a PowerPoint presentation, artwork or map work. We encourage you to be creative and enjoy spending time researching our diverse planet!

If the project could be brought to school on the first day when we return, we will be able to share the fantastic home learning projects that the children have worked on whilst at home.
